Kate played in her first soccer game today. She was very excited to get dressed and have her hair done. The excitement seemed to wear off about 3 minutes into the game, though. =) It proved to be a little overwhelming for our new soccer player and it took some threatening, some encouraging, and some rewarding to get her to finish the game, but she did. We were encouraged to hear the moms of the 2nd year players saying that their daughters (who are sooo good now) were the exact same last year. Surprisingly, Kate says she can't wait for the next game so here's hoping it goes a little better. =)
#3 ready to go!!

Our cute team banner...

Getting in there with the team...
she would get so excited when she actually made contact with the ball.

The picture below demonstrates the scene during much of the 2nd half. We had a little pep talk, which may or may not have included the mention of a trip to the Target $1 section, and she got in there to finish strong with a final dribble...past the net, over the field boundary line and straight on to the fence that encircles the school. But, hey, she did it with a proud smile on her face, so I'll take it.
