Anniversary trip...

On March 23rd, we celebrated our 9 year anniversary! Hard to believe it's been that long since our "I do's". We were fortunate enough to celebrate another anniversary in San Ynez last weekend with the Irelands and the Wards! And thanks to Sarah I have some pictures to remember it. ;) We started our trip Sunday morning and stopped at a yummy taco place in Santa Barbara for lunch, hit up Los Olivos for a little wine & olive oil tasting, picked up some groceries, and had a delicious dinner at the house.

On of the tasting rooms we visited housed a cat so John had to keep his distance. Our non-drinker (read: preggo), Allison, was nice enough to keep him company outside while we finished up.

After a delicious breakfast a la Aaron on Monday morning, Aaron, Sarah, John, and I headed up to Nojoqui Falls for a beautiful little hike...on the recommendation from our fabulous children's director, Emily. It was a short, easy one but certainly worth the drive and muddy walk. It was such a nice area with a little playground nearby and picnic benches. We decided it would be a fun place to bring the kids sometime so we'll definitely be back. Thanks, Emily!

For the rest of the afternoon, we hung out around the house, played games, chatted, and laughed...it's so nice when you have the chance to spend time learning more about your friends. You know, without being interrupted by little ones needing you every 5 minutes. ;) That night we had dinner at the cutest restaurant, Los Olivos Cafe. The decor, service and food were all great!

Such a fabulous trip with fabulous friends!!

Western Dress Up...

Last Friday was Western Dress Up day and Grandparents Day at school. Kate was giddy as can be and SO excited for such a special day. She was able to have lunch with all 4 of her grandparents and then show them around her classroom. Such a proud girl! ;)

St. Patrick's Day...

St. Patrick's Day in our household has become a really fun holiday! In fact Kate woke up on March 17th and came running into the kitchen calling out, "Happy St. Patrick's Day!!" and was very unhappy to hear that she had to go to school. Who goes to school on a holiday?! ;) Despite my disappointment in myself for dropping the ball on a couple of things I normally do (no green breakfast, no gifts, very few pictures), we had a fun day! After we picked Kate up from school, the 4 of us headed over to E.J. Malloy's for our traditional lunch. Later that evening, we hosted some friends for a St. Patty's feast...corned beef sandwiches, meatloaf, baked potatoes and all the fixin's, cabbage salad, fruit, Shamrock sugar cookies, and brownies. Of course, I took pictures of the set up and a couple during dinner then put the camera down. Boo! Hopefully, next year we'll have way more documentation.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
