Riley's Apple Farm

Today we had some good old fashioned frontier fun with the Nelson girls and the Melvin girls. We spent several hours at Riley's Apple Farm in Yucaipa. We had a great day making corn husk dolls and apple cider, taking a tractor ride, making a kazoo, and learning how they did things "back in the day". It was a long drive there and back and we came home dirty and tired but Kate loved it...nothing like educational fun! =)
Luke & Nola...

Kate working hard on her corn husk doll...

The girls showing off their creations...

Kate & Emmerly choosing apples to help make cider...

The kids threw the apples in while they hand grind them...

Also done by hand, they smash the ground up apple to produce the juice...
(we got to taste the juice after they refridgerated it for a while...a little tart but good)

Luke's favorite part of the day was the tractor ride...

Helping to water the vegetable garden...

So glad we don't have to wash clothes like this anymore...

Our own little prairie girls...

These pictures are so cute. Kate's hair looks so pretty in that one watering can picture. I love their curls! :)
